The current recession has raised the spectre of fear among people in the world like few things have before. This particular recession is different to the one we experienced in the 90s. At a business seminar I attended recently, world renowned entrepreneur Alex Mandossian said the difference is that in the 90s the banks weren’t in trouble whereas they are now.

It seems like the internet is full of theories and systems on how to beat the recession. Just some of the kind of stuff you’ll see across the internet and blog network is advice like:

1. Protect your job
2. Act while others are distracted
3. Earn extra money in this program or that
4. Evaluate your mortgage
5. Refinance high interest credit cards
6. Be frugal
7. Haggle on deals to save money
8. Cut back on energy usage to reduce your bills
9. Avoid increasing debts

I really could go on to reach 101 areas but I won’t waste your time. I know you can Google it for yourself and find it all out there from every Tom, Dick and Harry.

So let’s be brief here.

With so much ‘guidance’ out there, how is it not everyone gets rich? How is it that few people who cut back on spending get rich? How is it that not all educated people succeed? How is it that few people who start a business get rich?
