The sun is shining here in All Cannings in the Pewsey Vale following an arduous winter, and the oilseed rape is in bloom, spawning hoards of sneezing hayfever sufferers with tissues held to red noses. The fields are ripe and ready for crop circles in 2011 to begin appearing. As usual the suspense of Spring is rising – “What is next?” being the question on the lips of crop circle enthusiasts.

I was somewhat saddened last year by the way many people got sucked into the low energy bickering on the subject of crop circle hoaxing, in my view, missing magical factors which were still happening. Many were on their travels investigating crop circles for the first time and I witnessed their dreams, hopes and expectations being dashed on finding out that people were actually making crop circles. If this has happened to you I would just say consider this – In the words of a wise old friend of mine many years ago, “Everything in life is a double edged sword”.

Since the mid 90′s the predominant edge of the sword being swung has been the one of disinformation, debunking, hoaxing etc. As one of my favorite figures, Eckhart Tolle would say, “The tendency is to get lost in mind streams over the whole thing, missing valuable lessons”. The other edge of this sword is gentler, more subtle, and is perceived not through rampant thinking, but through sharpened awareness. Receptivity in the moment is the key. The Universe freely gives answers to our deepest questions but we must be ‘present in the moment’ to receive them, otherwise they will fly by like clouds in the sky and we will miss them.

The crop circle phenomenon affords a fantastic fast track training ground for all of this. If we didn’t practice the art of stepping back from the mind streams we risk becoming embroiled in a lot of unpleasantness. Magic and beauty is surely happening in the fields and hills of Wiltshire but requires of us a certain state of being in order to experience it – in essence, one of stillness and receptivity in the moment.

I was browsing through photos of crop circles from years gone by and felt a deep sense of gratitude for the personal gifts the Universe has given me throughout my years of questioning. Many people have shared with me their own personal stories and I invariably sit there listening to them with goosebumps on my arms. The quest goes on for each and every one of us, and truth is being realized – but it is not likely to be broadcast on the television screen!

I would like to comment here about one other thing which saddened me last year. A degree of vitriole was aimed by one or two people towards veteran crop circle researcher Lucy Pringle. One accusation is that she is in it for the money. I can utterly refute this allegation, having come to know Lucy fairly well over the last three years or so. Lucy is a lovely lady with a heart of gold and does what she does because she passionately believes in her scientific research. She does NOT make a lot of money from it, in fact she spends a massive amount on scientific testing and flying in order to bring us her beautiful photographs. Lucy’s archive of crop circle images, open to free viewing, goes back to 1990 and is a tremendously valuable resource for all. So come on guys, you may not agree with all of Lucy’s views, but please give her a break this year.

I wish a happy 2011 crop circle season to you all!

The year of crop circles 2009 was indeed a very powerful and poignant one for all concerned. Every year Lucy Pringle publishes an article on her website giving an account of her experiences and scientific findings throughout the previous crop circle season. Lucy’s new article, aptly named “Highs And Lows“, covering the crop circle season of 2009 has been published, containing some very interesting accounts of individuals’ experiences. The following touches on just some of the content within Lucy’s latest article:

Accounts include that of Dr Karen Ralls, Medieval Historian/ Musicologist at Oxford who has been asked to write up the works of the late Anne Macaulay who held the Chair of Music at Edinburgh University. She had been directed to Lucy’s web site to look at the Windmill Hill `Harp`. “Seven “. She adds her very interesting historical angle to this particular formation.

A fascinating account was sent to Lucy by Norwegian Eva Haagensen which once again describes a loss of time when going to crop circles. I am sure that many can relate to this! At this point I would like to add that Lucy is very open to hearing of anyone’s personal experiences to do with the crop circle phenomenon. She has compiled a valuable and in depth library documenting how people are affected on visiting crop formations. If you have a personal story you would like to share and assist with research, then please don’t hesitate, go here and fill in Lucy Pringle’s Questionnaire on Crop Circles and Health. Please bear in mind that, where crop circles are concerned, we are dealing with the unusual but whatever your story is you are unlikely to be alone in your experience. Lucy respects your privacy and will not publicize your experience or personal details without your consent.

Each year Lucy and her team conduct scientific tests that include as many different aspects of scientific research as possible. In the morning of Sunday 12 July, Jim Lyons, Dr Roger Taylor, Dr Konstantin Pavlidis, Dr Clive Beale, an agricultural scientist along with guinea pigs Christopher Weeks, Anne Leonard, Jackie Faulkner and William Betts gathered at the study centre at Avebury. You can read about their findings and much more by heading over to http://www.lucypringle.co.uk/articles/highs-and-lows-2009/

As a final note in this post I would like to share in Lucy Pringle’s acknowledgements to the beloved friends we have seen depart this world over the last year. All of us involved in crop circles have been moved to the core by the departure of so many familiar companions in so short a time. Indeed for many of us this has expanded outside of crop circle friends to include departure of relatives and other beloved ones. My own personal world underwent, what I would describe as, nothing less than a complete fracturing process over the last year but I see magic arising from it. To many of us it is obvious we have reached a very important watershed in our time here on earth, and as Eckhart Tolle says, let us strive to be fully present in the now, allowing the portal to the divine to open and remind us who we truly are. We are undergoing a massive shift together and a new consciousness is in the process of manifesting. An old Indian lady, a meditation teacher of mine, said similar – “despite outward appearances you have a very bright future”. If you could have looked into her eyes, seeing her smile as I did, you too would know this to be true. Let us participate in a magical crop circle season in 2010, with love and gratitude in our hearts, in honour of old friends, and strive to realize the loving destiny we have all dreamed of! Let us do it together.

Veteran crop circle researcher Lucy Pringle has updated her extensive crop circle image gallery for May 2009. Lucy has put in an enormous amount of work and dedication to produce her gallery of aerial photos, extending from 1990 to the present.

Roundway Hill, Devizes - 10th May 2009

I have been talking to many crop circle enthusiasts in recent days and the buzz and ecitement is running high. Never before have we seen so many formations and such complexity so early in the year. One investigator told me that he beleives that the 2009 will provide proof of otherworldly involvement in the phenomenon. “If they are like this now, we can only wonder at what will be appearing by August”.
